Trick Your Body into Burning FatStaying Motivated is the Key to Your Weight Loss SuccessSetting a weight loss goal is becoming a thing of the past. Isn't it about time you set a goal that will keep you motivated for the rest of your life?
How many times have you set a goal to lose weight for a special occasion, only to gain it back again after the big event? This process of losing weight and gaining weight, referred to as "Yo-Yo Dieting" not only takes a toll on you physically, but mentally as well. Isn't it time to stop the madness? Setting a goal to lose weight doesn't work because there's no long term motivation to keep the weight off for good. Believe it or not, the fitness industry is "moving away from 'fitness' and more towards "health and wellness" says Michael Scott Scudder, well known presenter and consultant for the fitness industry. More and more people are joining gyms for health related issues and lifestyle changes. They want to improve their quality of life, live longer and stay active well into their 80s. This kind of goal is what will keep you motivated to do one more rep or get off the couch and go to a Body Pump or RPM class. Let's say you set a goal to lower your cholesterol, because if you don't, your doctor has promised to put you on a drug. You would do the following:

Eating the right foods for your nutritional type should produce lasting improvement in your energy levels, mental capacities, your emotional well being, and leave you feeling well satisfied for hours. Drinking enough water is one of the most simple, basic health steps you can take. In his book Eat Move and Be Healthy Paul Chek states that "ideally, you should drink half your body weight in ounces per day. If you feel hungry well before you normally eat, you may be dehydrated. In his book Your Body's Many Cries for Water by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. explains that hunger pangs are frequently signs of dehydration. In his article "The Importance of Omega Three Fats in Health and Disease", Dr. William Connor states that Omega 3 fatty acids play an important role in the prevention of certain diseases. The following is a partial list:
These five steps are the same steps you would need to incorporate into your life to lose weight. The difference is your focus. When you focus on your health, rather than the scale, you see quicker results. Seeing results will keep you motivated and the more motivated you are, the healthier you get and the more weight you lose. References: Batmanghelidj, F.
